Therapeutic Modalities

Therapeutic modalities such as ice and heat have been used for centuries to help inflammation, muscle tension, and circulation. Often these simple modalities are inexpensive and can be easily used at home. We use common therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, phonophoresis, electrical stimulation, iontophoresis, neuromuscular stimulation, and biofeedback to compliment manual therapy and exercise. Modalities can help reduce pain, muscle spasms, muscle soreness, and inflammation to allow for more comfortable participation in an exercise program. Neuromuscular stimulation and biofeedback can help to restore the communication between the muscles and nerves to improve mobility and strength.
